WHAT YOU NEED FOR DRUM COACH
Drum Coach runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or later, and on Android phones and tablets with Android 8.0 or later. It needs an internet connection. You don't need a drum kit: a practice pad or your hands are enough, and it also works with acoustic kits. To get your hits scored, connect an electronic kit over USB MIDI or Bluetooth MIDI (beta).

No. Drum Coach can use your phone's microphone to record your practice so you can listen back, but it does not score what it records. It only scores your playing with an electronic kit connected over MIDI.
Most kits with USB MIDI, from brands like Roland, Yamaha, Alesis, Simmons and EFNOTE. Modules with Bluetooth MIDI (like the Roland TD-07, TD-17 and TD-27) connect without a cable. Kits with 5-pin MIDI work through a USB-MIDI adapter. The full list is on the Compatible kits page (link at the top).
E-drums is in beta. If Electronic Kit is part of your drum setup, you'll see an invite when you open Drum Coach. Missed it? Email support@upbeat.studio and we'll add you. The steps are on the How to connect page (link at the top).
