USB cable works on virtually every e-drum. Set the module USB mode to MIDI (not audio-only), plug into your phone or tablet, then tap Find devices → Connect in Drum Coach. Bluetooth MIDI is a great wireless option on supported Roland modules (TD-07, TD-17, TD-27 and similar). Older premium kits can also use 5-pin DIN MIDI with a USB-MIDI adapter.

1. Use a USB cable that carries MIDI (USB-C on the phone or tablet is fine). 2. On the module: set USB mode to MIDI (not audio-only) in the USB settings. 3. Plug in — the device may appear immediately; tap Find devices, then Connect. Android often needs USB OTG. iPhone/iPad work with USB-C or a Lightning camera adapter.

1. On the module: turn on Bluetooth and Bluetooth MIDI (see your manual for the menu). 2. Do not pair the Bluetooth AUDIO profile on your phone — Drum Coach needs MIDI. 3. Tap Find devices, wait for the scan to finish, then Connect. Bluetooth MIDI is widely available on Roland V-Drums modules such as TD-07, TD-17, and TD-27. Many other brands only offer Bluetooth audio for play-along — that cannot trigger Drum Coach.

1. Connect the module MIDI OUT to a class-compliant USB-MIDI adapter. 2. Plug the adapter into your phone (USB-OTG on Android, Lightning/USB-C adapter on iOS). 3. Tap Find devices, then Connect when the interface appears.

Hit your pads to check sounds and the in-app drum set. If pads land on the wrong pieces, run pad calibration (hit each highlighted pad a few times) and save the pad map. If hits feel early or late vs the metronome, use Calibrate delay — play on the beat, then Save or Use only this time. In practice settings you can toggle Hear my hits and Hear exercise pattern independently.
